Maps hold the entire city in sheets of paper. Maps which are the most condensed humanised spaces of all make the landscapes mere markings and dots. One often makes the mistake of thinking that they hold the map in their little hands and know the city by heart. Hauz Khas, Okhla, Adchini, Mehrauli, Purana Qila, Vasant Vihar, Jamia, Saket, Khirki, South Extension, Masjid Moth, Lajpat Nagar, INA; the map-makers will mark these places neatly but will their map tell us that a beloved friend lives in South Extension or a teacher lives somewhere in Press Enclave or Lodhi Garden looks magnificent at dusk or that the numerous ring roads and t-points of Delhi hold countless memories. 

Zikr-e-Dilli draws a map of its own, a map of recollections. It is a digital depository of material-spatial memories, history and narratives of the city of Delhi. Its ongoing project Living Museum of Delhi archives people's recollections of material and spatial aspects of Delhi.
